polar bear vs grizzly bear

.....the average weight of polar bears may vary, according to the year, as well as the availability of food during the time of the weighings. proportionately speaking (i.e. length, height, bone mass) i`ve found these specimens to be of equal sizes. weight then, seems to be based upon food intake. that being, the higher the food intake of the particular animals, the higher the weight, and polar bears have a particularly rich diet, comprised, unlike that of most grizzlies, mostly of a carnivorous diet.

so, which would be the winner?...

Well Polar Bears are much bigger than the everyday Yellowstone Grizzly Bear. So the Polar Bear would defeat the smaller bear easily.

Jwb187, i`m not so sure the polar bear would win. even though the specific population i gave note of is larger than the corresponding grizzly population, this is based more upon food intake, which for the polar bear is richer. however, proportionately speaking, their is no difference in the size of these animals, and, based upon food intake, the time of year in which the animal was measured, and so forth will likely influence the average weights of these animals.

I think polar bears are stronger because they have a richer diet. More Vitamins. + They are bigger.

...Generally speaking, the size of these polar beasr was related to their greater food intake...they are not nessecarily larger in body, but, greater food intake means they often grow to larger masses. but, the weight of the grizzly bears was based upon specimens measured throughout the year, before and after hibernation......not so with the polar bears, though only the female hibernates. but, yes, at larger sizes, the polar bear would be stronger....i`ve seen one take a wild fox and just fling him.
